ලංකාවේ වේදිකා නාට්‍ය කලාවට ඉතා දිගු මෙන්ම හොඳ ඉතිහාසයක් තිබේ. කලින් කලට මෙරටේ බිහි වූ නාට්‍යකරුවෝ තම දක්ෂතාව මනාව විදහාපාමින්, දේශීයත්වයත් ආරක්ෂා කරගනිමින් අලූත් අත්හදාබැලීම්ද සිදුකරමින් තම නාට්‍ය කලාවේ නියැලූනහ. එම පරම්පරාවේ ආභාෂය ලැබූ වර්තමාන නාට්‍ය පරම්පරාවක්ද අප රට සතුව පවතී. මෑත ඉතිහාසය තුළ ලංකාවේ අනෙක් කලාවන්ට මෙන්ම වේදිකා නාට්‍යයටද ලබා තිබුණේ එතරම් යහපත් කාලයක් නොවේ. එහෙත් දැන් එය වෙනස්වී ඇත. තරුණ නාට්‍යකරුවන් මෙන්ම ප‍්‍රවීණ නාට්‍ය කරුවන්ද තම වේදිකා නාට්‍ය වේදිකා ගතකරමින් සිටී. මේ කරුණු කෙසේ වෙතත් තවමත් ලංකාව තුළ වේදිකා නාට්‍ය රසවිඳීමේ සංස්කෘතියක් බිහිව නැති බව නම් ඇස් පනාපිට පෙනෙනන්ට තිබෙන සත්‍යයකි.

ලොව ප‍්‍රකට ගුවන් යානා නිෂ්පාදන ආයතනයක් වන බොයිං සමාගම සිය බොයිං 747 කාණ්ඩයේ නවතම ගුවන්යානය පසුගියදා ලොවට ඉදිරිපත් කළේය. ඉන්ටකොන්ටිනන්ටල් සහ ෆ්රයිටර් ලෙස වර්ග කෙරී ඇති මෙම ගුවන් යානය වඩා වැඩි පහසුකම්වලින් සමන්විත බව පැවසේ. මීට සමගාමීව ඔවුන් බොයිං 787-8 ඩී‍්‍රම්ලයිනර් ගුවන් යානයත් පසුගියදා එළිදැක්වූයේය. ලංකාවේ ජාතික ගුවන් සේවයද 1947 සිට 1992 දක්වා තම සේවා සැපයීම සඳහා යොදා ගත්තේ බොයිං යානාය.

2008 වසරේදී පැවැත්වුණු ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ 60 වැනි නිදහස් සමුරුවට සමගාමීව නිදහස් අනුස්මරණ කෞතුකාගාරයද විවෘත කෙරිණි. කොළඹ නිදහස් චතුරස්‍ර භූමියේම පිහිටා ඇති මෙම කෞතුකාගාරය තුළ ලංකාවේ ජනාවාස ඇති වූ දා පටන් අද දක්වාම සිදුවූ විවිධ ආක්‍රමණවලින් රටත් ජනතාවත් ආරක්ෂා වූ ආකාරය දක්වා ඇත. ඊට අමතරව ලංකාවේ විසූ සුප්‍රසිද්ධ චරිත පිළිබඳ විස්තර අඩංගු පුවරුද මෙහි පිහිටුවා තිබේ.

Sri lanka also have good culture. So if we have a tv channel like these, we will able to show our glorious culture to the entire world. We can use Satellite or Internet technology to do this thing. I wil be vital for the Sri lankan future.
